1,3-Butadiene

Overview

The Mutagenicity and Carcinogenicity Assessment of 1,3-Butadiene was prepared to serve as a source document for Agency-wide use. In the development of this assessment document, the scientific literature has been inventoried, key studies have been evaluated, and the summary and conclusions have been prepared so that the mutagenicity, carcinogenicity, and related characteristics of 1,3-butadiene are qualitatively identified. Measures of dose-response relationships relevant to ambient exposures are also discussed so that the adverse health responses are placed in perspective with possible exposure levels.
